This position:
Will be responsible for managing all federal, state, and excise tax matters for the US companies which consist of a holding company, a services company, and four property and casualty companies. Primary responsibilities include federal, state, and excise tax planning, compliance and provision calculations. This position will require someone with extensive experience in property and casualty corporate taxes including the application of FAS 109 and SSAP 10. This position will have significant interaction with the external tax service provider and company management. Other duties include:

· Strategic federal, state, and local tax planning.

· Management of the relationship with the external tax service provider.

· Coordination of tax audits and inquiries.

· Preparation of the US GAAP and Statutory tax provision and deferred tax inventory.

· Review and evaluation of potential tax contingencies and maintenance of the valuation allowance.

· Coordination of the external audit on tax matters.

· Preparation of federal tax projections and tax payment forecasts.

· Implementation of new tax regulations and tax-related US GAAP requirements
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: MUST HAVES

Bachelors Degree and CPA.
Eight to ten years of corporate tax experience in private industry or public accounting.
Minimum of five years experience in property and casualty taxes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate complex subject matter appropriately to the level of audience.
Masters in Taxation
Extensive experience spearheading start up Tax departments
MBA highly favored
