The Institute for Patient Care at the Massachusetts General Hospital is a bold new vision for bringing together nurses and health professionals to think, collaborate and create innovations in patient care delivery, facilitate interdisciplinary education through progressive programming and simulation. The Institute is comprised of four dstinct centers: The Knight Nursing Center for Clinical & Professional Development, The Yvonne L. Munn Center for Nursing Research, The Eleanor and Maxwell Blum Patient & Family Learning Center, and The Center for Innovations in Care Delivery. In addition, The Institute, which is housed in a new state of the art facility, offers innovative interdisciplinary programs such as collaborative governance, a robust awards and recognition program and a first-of-its-kind multidisciplinary clinical recognition program, all aimed at advancing clinical excellence and the art and science of patient care.
We are seeking a nationally recognized nurse leader to work with the nation's best nurses and health professionals. The successful candidate for the position of Executive Director will have a proven track record of leading in complex organizations and is known as a dynamic leader and has demonstrated success in leading collaborative teams of clinicians in care-delivery, research, and educational initiatives. The Executive Director reports directly to the Senior Vice President for Patient Care and Chief Nurse, Jeanette Ives Erickson, an internationally recognized executive and nurse leader.
A Doctoral degree is required; one degree must be in Nursing. Qualified candidates are
