Director of Procurement and Production Planning

The position of Director, Procurement & Production Planning, leads global strategic sourcing activities for multiple spend categories, with the goal of achieving significant reductions in total cost of ownership. In addition, strives to deliver year-over-year productivity improvements while maintaining or improving service levels and reliability. The Director works closely with key stakeholders in various to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans. This position will typically be responsible for $25+ million in annual spend and reports directly to the VP, Operations & Supply chain .

?Responsible for the execution of the overall strategic direction for materials and production planning management.
?Directs the daily activities of the global purchasing function; coach and mentor procurement & planning team for optimal results and future development.
?Develop, implement and influence best practices in the discipline of supply chain management, inventory management, production planning and sourcing from multiple sources.
?Develop and implement production and inventory optimization strategies for product promotions, new product introductions and excess/obsolete products.
?Develops procurement policies, control systems and performance measurement systems.
?Negotiates with vendors for goods and services, negotiating the best possible price, quality and service guarantee.
?Develops and manages existing supplier relationships / key contact for outside sourcing.
?Responsible for incoming quality control.
?Responsible for fill rates – on-time delivery.
?Develops new supply sources where vendors are inadequate, researches new sources for existing products.
?Examines bids and makes awards.
?Establishes account/credit and terms.
?Negotiates blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitors cost during the time period.
?Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
?Complies with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics.
?Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
REQUIREMENTS
BS Degree Business/or related field, MS Preferred
10 years experience in Purshasing and Production Planning within a manufacturing enviroment
