Core Service Center Manager
Delegated responsibility to manage a small to moderately sized Agency OPS area of a branch office including marketing; underwriting; and operations areas (Scope: 1 branch, 2 teams, up to $25 million in premium). Will normally manage a team. Marketing focus is on attaining branch or region premium, loss ratio, expenses, Agency development, retention, and combined ratio goals. Primary goal of profitable production. May assist in product development. Meet established Company standards for premium, adhere to policies, procedures, and underwriting guidelines; and direct or be responsible for company business strategy within assigned branch. Reports to Resident Vice President.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Promote company products to agencies either through personal visits as needed, correspondence, and/or agency counsel meetings. Evaluate performance of agencies and make recommendations for improvement to senior management; assist in product development; and analyze market conditions. Coordinate special marketing projects/programs within branch to promote company products. Assist agencies in placing profitable business with the company.
Direct Agency OPS area, including operations employees, in providing quality service to agencies and insureds; monitor adherence to company policies, guidelines, and standards; and resolve workflow or procedural acceptance or denial of low risks.
Oversee and approve Human Resources activities within Agency OPS including salary administration, recruiting, selection, performance appraisal, and performance improvement actions. Salary actions and appraisals to be completed on time and prior to effective dates. Identify Agency OPS needs in the areas of personnel development; provide coaching to managers and employees; and develop and monitor training programs. Support Mission Statement to promote and develop a diversified workforce.
Prepare an annual marketing plan, monthly reports of activities, itineraries, agency call reports, and expense account; supervise preparation of reports and other necessary documents on a timely basis; direct Agency OPS activities; and coordinate building issues including maintenance, furnishing, space planning, and related areas.
Engage in regular planning and budgeting for Agency OPS including expense, marketing, and premium forecasts; monitor variance to budget; identify areas of policy, procedure, pricing, or product line mix which needs enhancement and make recommendations to management; and participate in branch profitability process.
Other activities as assigned by management.
