Chief Planner

Responsible for planning, administering, coordinating, and supervising the Current or Long Range Planning Services Division activities and programs. May be responsible for preparing and maintaining the Comprehensive Plan; conducting special research and studies; preparing and administering annual budget; administering contracts; managing preparation of land development regulations; supervising subordinate personnel; preparing ordinances and resolutions; and providing assistance to other departments as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
POSITION SCHEDULED TO START OCTOBER 1ST PENDING BUDGET APPROVAL. - Master’s Degree relating to Planning, Public Administration, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering or related field and seven (7) years experience in Land Use Planning, Site Plan Design, Policy Administration and/or analysis, with two (2) years supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of related education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge skills and abilities to perform the essential job functions. Extensive Comprehensive Planning experience required. Research and writing skills essential. Knowledge of GIS strongly preferred. AICP desirable.
