Chief Metallurgist

* General support in technical issues related to materials and special processes.

* Develop all special process specifications for the company, according to ISO, Federal and Customer Specifications.

* Develop certified welding, laser cutting, cold/hot forming, super plastic forming, heat-treating & furnace brazing schedules and painting templates for new and ongoing part production.

* Train and certify process operators, qualify welders, welding machines and heat treat furnaces.

* Prepare for, and interface with NADCAP and customers' special process audits.

* Interface with customers and vendors in technical issues related to materials and special processes.

* Technical support of captive material testing laboratory.
REQUIREMENTS
* B.S. Degree in technical field (engineering, physics, chemistry, manufacturing/industrial technology)

* 8-10 Years experience as a Metallurgist in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.

* Proven skills and ability in Statistical Process Control

* Familiarity with quality inspection equipment.

* Demonstrated experience in customer relations and resolving issues in a timely and effective manner.

* Strong verbal and written commmunication skills.

* Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
