Chief Management Accountant

1. Responsible for functional operations to include one or more departments, and to achieve annual/strategic goals and objectives.
• Manages by prioritizing and allocating department staff resources in support of goals and objectives.

2. Directs and coordinates activities of department/function/group managers and staff. Includes interviewing, hiring, performance evaluation, incentive plans/bonus awards, promotions, and counseling of staff.
• Makes decisions regarding composition and direction of staff.
• Actively trains, develops and counsels managers and staff in their professional, technical and personal career development.

3. Partners with or acts as an internal expert/consultant to provide technical/functional expertise and internal consulting to company management, business units and other internal customers.
• Decides among various courses of action and recommends alternatives for company/business unit projects/initiatives with regards to functional responsibilities and expertise.
• Develops feasibility analysis and project plans. Identifies resource requirements and time to completion based on available resources.

4. Develops and implements training programs to ensure staff are sufficiently prepared to satisfy customers.

5. Ensures that staff is in compliance with all pertinent regulations and maintain proper documentation standards at all times.

6. Schedules projects, evaluating their cost, architecture, and impact on the organization.
• Manages and/or works on unusually complex projects to provide both tactical and strategic direction.
• Provides direction that is highly innovative and achieves utmost quality results by considering many options, adopting a flexible mindset, and demonstrating tolerance for ambiguity.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
Required
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.

• 8+ years of increasingly responsible experience in applicable area(s) of expertise.


• 3-5 or more years of mgmt experience in a banking/mortgage banking environment or equivalent combination of education, experience and management experience.

Preferred
• Master’s degree.

• 5+ years Mortgage banking experience.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
• Ability to multi-task numerous projects simultaneously.

• Knowledge of mortgage banking principles, practices, and automation preferred.

• Ability to prioritize, organize, and coordinate projects.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Excellent customer service skills.

• Ability to adapt quickly to change.

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
