Our Tool Division located in Romeoville, Illinois is currently looking for a Chief Engineer. This position will manage a production engineering team consisting of an assistant chief engineer, engineers, designers, and drafters. Responsible for planning, driving and supervising all engineering department functions, in a focused manner, to support Division/Corporate goals while anticipating & planning staffing and development needs for the department. Will provide technical expertise, mentoring, and guidance to a team challenged with implementation & refinement of new tool developments, improvements/changes to existing tools, assembly methods and fixturing, buy-out tool implementations, ECN work, and support of Production & Tool Service departments.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will possess a BSME with a minimum of 10 years engineering experience developing mechanisms having components manufactured by metal cutting, plastic & metal injection molded, sheet metal, sintered metal, investment cast and die cast processes. Must also have a minimum of 3 years engineering management experience to include working knowledge of patent structure, FMEA process, DOE, and Unigraphics 3-D CAD part design.

Specific duties include:
·Collaborate with cross-functional groups (Purchasing, Suppliers, Manufacturing, Quality, etc.) to expedite projects, adhere to time & cost constraints, and resolve product-related production & customer issues.
·Draft and lead development plans that support Tool Division initiatives in cost reductions, lean manufacturing, efficiency & process improvements, problem solving, and quality programs.
·Effectively utilize project schedules, reports, meetings, etc. to track and communicate departmental goals to all levels of the organization.
·Support the Chief Engineer, Tool Div. New Products in Flex Gate process, Portfolio, and T20 reporting.
·Meet or exceed Product Engineering Key Performance Measurements.
·Maintain current knowledge of competitive advantages, products and engineering technologies.
