Business Unit: GE HealthcareFunction: Engineering/ Product DevelopmentResponsibilities: The Chief Engineer for Monitoring Solutions is recognized as a technical expert and thought leader. The Chief Engineer maintains a very broad understanding of all products and technologies across the Monitoring Solutions business, driving global technology and innovation strategies. As a Chief Engineer works directly with patient/customers, the Technology Leadership Team, the Global Research Center organization and business leaders to champion intellectual property and to drive product architecture and advanced technology planning. The Chief Engineer is responsible for the overall system architecture technical roadmap, for definition of Monitoring Solution's strategy to closed (proprietary) and open (industry) product standards, and for integrating both of these with the other business areas within Clinical Systems. In addition, the Chief Engineer leads technical design reviews and acts on a ready-to-serve basis to retire technology and business risks. The Chief Engineer also mentors Principal Engineers and coaches thought leaders from across the business. ~HJ~
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: -Masters degree in Advanced Engineering or 15+ year progressive experience as an engineer or scientist within the appropriate field of study, including 7+ years experience in leadership within a manufacturing, development or research environment.A minimum of 7 years experience in the following:
Pioneering the conceptualization of ideas and development of multi-generation technology planning.
In depth knowledge of multiple product related technologies, clinical applications and scientific/engineering methods/theory.
Demonstrated Strategic planning and thinking with the ability to understand market impact across products, business and industry
Exceptional Experience advancing and energizing new product development processes and provided expert advice to leadership on strategy and emerging technologies.
Substantial planning and presentation skills to lead strategic business planning (Growth Playbook, World-Wide Technology Planning) in a manner that drives growth and clinical differentiation.
Progressive experience in facilitation and negotiation with expertise across multiple engineering disciplines.
