Chief Engineer, Mission Management Systems
This senior level engineering position is responsible for leading the Mission Management Systems technical organization which is responsible for stores/weapon management systems and land based navigation/reference systems and providing primary oversight for all product area development programs.

Duties will include:
Interacting with customer aircraft/vehicle systems architects and with lead product area designers within Smiths and Smiths' partners to develop new product group architectures that will satisfy aircraft/vehicle level systems requirements.
Developing and coordinating the product area technology roadmap, working closely with advanced marketing and technology organization and business development team to support the acquisition, development, and implementation of both enabling and advanced technologies.
Assessing technology and capability needs for future system advanced concepts and designs and articulating the market requirement within the product area.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience
Recognized nationally as an expert in stores/weapons management systems. Knowledge of land based navigation/reference systems is secondary but desired.
A minimum of 10 years experience with related technology and significant engineering management experience.
Ability to understand the business aspects associated with technical decisions, risks, program pursuits, and technology development along with cost estimating experience.
Advanced knowledge of stores management systems, airborne weapons, systems integration on aviation platforms, and avionics from a systems level. Will also lead the Reference Products, so knowledge of land based navigation and reference systems is a plus.
A Master's degree or equivalent experience in a related technical specialty. A Ph.D. is preferred
To meet security and export control regulations, this position requires either U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident Alien Status.
