Chief Engineer

Position Summary
This individual will operate and maintain building systems, and will manage the operations’ employees of the Washington Design Center and the Washington Office Center

Responsibilities include:
Managing the operations staff of the Washington Design Center and the Washington Office Center
Responding to tenant concerns and building critical systems
Preparing and working within the operating budget
Directing and enforcing building standards
Maintaining records/logs of building systems
Training and mentoring of operations’ personnel

Education/Experience
The ideal candidate for the Chief Engineer will possess at least 10 years of previous experience as an Assistant Chief Engineer, or Engineer. Knowledge of the operation/maintenance of HVAC, sprinkler systems, plumbing and electrical equipment is essential to this position. Experience working with the federal government is a plus.

Skills/Abilities Required:
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage a team of experienced engineers
Mature communications style with resourcefulness in high-pressure, fast-paced situations
Highly organized and comfortable with creating reports and tracking of work, progress, status, etc.
Demonstrated responsibility, follow-through and ability to generate results
