Major Responsibilities
Vigorously research and perform due diligence on a wide breadth of available technologies, practices, tools and techniques. Harness the power of sensible solutions to deliver unified and reusable enterprise and system architecture services that support high performance, high availability, high interoperability and high extensibility.
Maintain high proficiency in relevant technologies, market trends, competitive offerings, and use this knowledge to help shape the technical direction and roadmap for the enterprise and product architectures
Collaborate with clients (internal and external) and business partners to assess costs, technical and schedule impact and articulate risks of proposed changes. Enforce architectural and standard compliance
Represent the company at critical speaking engagements, including conferences, analyst briefings, sales calls, and customer meetings
Participate in review activities including requirements, design, code and individual performance. Analyze problems logically and objectively. Apply sound judgment in assessing possible solutions, meet tight deadlines, and adjust to changing priorities
Coach, mentor and define development plans for technical personnel

REQUIREMENTS
Requirements/Education:
Advanced practitioner level skills in documenting the 4+1 views of the architecture as defined in RUP. Experience with RUP, UML and modeling tools is required. Experience with Iterative Incremental Development (IID) and Agile Methodologies is highly desired.
Strong analytical, process, communication and consensus building skills are required to execute in a wide range of project environments. Strong management skills and ability to coordinate complex infrastructure initiatives and development teams of 50+ including offshore components
Must have hands-on experience in the design, implementation and leadership of enterprise architectures that include enterprise common reusable components and system architectures for portfolio(s) of enterprise products. This experience must include enterprise J2EE products as well as customer specific solution architectures for global enterprise clients of >100,000 persons
Effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to present technical findings and approach in clear and concise manner to both a technical and non-technical audience from developers to executives
10+ years of hands on multi-tiered transactional-based systems, 5+ years in J2EE
Expert working knowledge of OOA/OOD, UML, design patterns and software development life cycle
Expert working knowledge of J2EE, .Net and Web Services technologies.
Expert working knowledge of more than two of the following market-leading application servers: WebLogic, WebSphere, SunOne, Oracle 9iAS, Jboss/Tomcat
Expert in design and development of major RDBMS such as Oracle or DB2 8.1. Strong working knowledge in the design and development of data warehouses or data-marts.
M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
