The appropriate person will exhibit a high level of responsibility and personal integrity; be hard working; understand the nature of consulting work done on a time and expense basis with constraints often based on fixed not to exceed budgets; understands the often unanticipated nature of client demands and deadlines; present well both over the phone and in person; and apply creativity and thought process to daily work.Skills required include:
Advanced Defined Benefit valuation experience; (both pension and retiree medical)

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;

Intimate knowledge of regulatory and legal environment re: DB plans

Project management: assign, communicate and oversee the requirements of those projects to the technical staff;

Fine attention to detail and accuracy:

Excellent computer skills: advanced Excel and other computer systems knowledge;

Applies creatively and finesse to direct client interaction;

Serve as a team technical resourse and mentor to more junior associates;

Team Player.Responsibilities includes:
Direct Client Contact

Responsible for communicating (verbal phone, in person, and/or in writing) complex actuarial topics directly to clients

Actuarial Responsibility

Responsibility to serve as Plan Actuary for selected clients

Checking, preparing or directing:

Actuarial valuations and funding projections, ( ERISA: Single and Multi-employer);

Benefit calculations including SERPs and QDROs;

FAS 87, 88, 106, 132 valuations, disclosures and related studies;

Government filings such as Form 5500 Schedule B and PBGC forms;

Individual participant benefit statements and benefit projections;

Nondiscrimination testing under IRC ยง401(a)(4) and ERISA 4010; and

All other similar topics.
