As a result of the July 2000 reaffiliation with Scripps Clinic, Scripps now has approximately 10,000 employees and also cares for patients at 12 Scripps Clinic locations throughout San Diego County.Division: Scripps Health FoundationDepartment: DEVELOPMENTJob Type: Full-TimeShift Type: DaysShift Hours: 8 Hr ShiftPosition Profile: Assists in cultivating and soliciting major gifts ($25K+) from individuals for assigned priority projects, centers, programs or campaigns, with/without volunteer assistance as appropriate. Serves as a key member of the Major Gifts group. Works closely with Foundation staff to develop and optimize strategies to obtain major gifts for areas of responsibility. Provides stewardship to all major donors within areas of responsibility. Establishes regular communication with key individuals from hospitals, centers or programs to assist in identifying specific operational, capital and endowment programs requiring private support. Represents Scripps and presents institutional case and funding priority specifics to civic groups and other public and private organizations. REQUIREMENTS
Preferred Qualifications: Three years fund-raising or related volunteer and professional experience, preferably in a medical setting. Knowledge of and experience in several aspects of philanthropic fund development, including working knowledge of rules and regulations governing charitable estate planning. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with varied constituencies, including volunteers, physicians, patients and donors. Excellent writing and verbal skills, including ability to make presentations. Computer proficiency, including expertise in Word. Creative, self-starting, results-oriented and committed to working as part of a team enterprise. Ability to organize time effectively and manage a large number of tasks simultaneously. Strong sense of ethical conduct. Undergraduate degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
