Through empowerment, families discover hope and have the opportunity to build a new future free from domestic violence.Sojourner Center is seeking dynamic candidates who are interested in serving as Advocates responsible for providing support and resource for the residential participants.
Keys to success in this role are:
1. A keen awareness of the critical nature of services provided to victims of domestic violence who are residing in the residential programs, including crisis and on-site transitional housing. 2. A strong ability to assist and support residential participants in the process of determining and accomplishing their self-determined goals. 3. A commitment to meeting the day-to-day needs of the women on the campus in a compassionate manner that is in concert with the empowerment dynamic.
REQUIREMENTS
Basic qualifications include:
2 – 4 years of post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent work experience in family violence services
General customer service skills
General office and computer skills
Strong communication skillsAdditional skill sets that are desirable:
Bi-lingual Spanish-English
