Shft: PRN/On-CallJob Description:Prepares room, equipment, contrast media and supplies necessary for each procedure.Under indirect supervision, performs diagnostic radiographic services for which they have proved competence:Operates fixed and mobile imaging equipment.Operates other equipment/accessory devices as necessary.Positions patient and immobilizes patient when necessary.Selects proper exposure factors.Modifies routine procedures and factors as required by patient condition.Develops films and insures proper identification is present.Practices aseptic technique as necessary.Assists with administration of contrast media.Assists physicians with imaging procedures.Performs QC function of all images prior to submitting to PACS, as necessary.Provides an explanation of procedures and assumes care for physical/psychological needs of the patient while in radiology.Assumes responsibility for assigned area:Maintains patient flow through optimum utilization of time and resources.Provides a clean and orderly environment.Maintains stock supplies and emergency drugs.Reports equipment malfunctions.Experience
Completion of at least 1 year of education in the Alegent Health School of Radiography or with any other accredited school of radiography with completed competencies in the following: chest and thorax, abdomen, upper extremities, lower extremities, spine, head, IVP and GI exams. Basic Life Support completed within 6 months of hire.Education/Licensure
Temporary license as an x-ray operator by the State of Nebraska/Iowa.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Must possess a knowledge of human structure & function, radiographic positioning, selection of exposure factors, and preparation & administration of contrast media for routine and special radiographic procedures. Proven ability to handle job related stress, must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time. Possess effective written and oral communication skills, manual dexterity, reading skills, team building skills and be people orientated.
