Product Engineer - International Entry Level

Job Responsibilities:
Schneider Electric is currently recruiting for its global development program (Marco Polo). This unique program allows an employee to embark on a 2-year international assignment. During the assignment the selected candidate will work directly for the host country. All pay and benefits will be in local currency and according to the local market. Currently we have an entry level opening for a Mechanical Engineer in Grenoble, France. After successful completion of the assignment the selected candidate will return to a Schneider Electric location within the United States. Marco Polo participants must be authorized to work in the United States and must have a desire and capacity to work in France.
The position is for Mechanical Engineering majors who are interested on product engineering for miniature circuit breakers, molded case circuit breakers, power circuit breakers and their accessories. Primary responsibilities include:Functional design and analysis of circuit breakersLead mechanical designers on the development of circuit breaker products and accessoriesCreate new concepts for products satisfying marketing specificationCreate engineering specificationCoordinate prototype build ups from the model shopEngineering materials selectionTolerance Analysis of components and assembliesCreate DFMEA and participate on PFMEA and AFMEAFault tree/Risk analysisVerification and validation test plansCreation of robust new product designs and their release into mass production.New product configuration controlCircuit breaker product application
RequirementsBachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master of Science degree prefered. Some experience in electromechanical mass production industries (e. g. electrical distribution products, automotive, electro domestic products, sensors and actuators, etc.). Good communication and people skills.
Training and/or experience in one or several of the following fields: Mechanics of materials Kinematics of mechanisms, in particular multi-bar and latching systems Electromagnetism Arc Interruption Applied Statistics (ANOVA, DOE, Process Capability/Control) CAE (Finite Element/Finite Differences) Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing Basic CAD (Pro E) Ferrous and Non-Ferrous metals Thermo-plastic and Thermo-set polymers Applied Dimensioning/Tolerance of Components and Assemblies Product Testing and Evaluation Methods Current Transformer and Solenoids selection, application, qualification Multi-phase Low voltage AC circuits distribution and control Stamping, Molding, and Extrusion Fabrication Processes for mass production Internship/Co-op experience in a related field a plus
