Parts Planner

**6 Month Contract Position**
Review production schedule to initiate and expedite the acquisition and assembly of components for the manufacture of pumps and spare parts following the department's policies and procedure manual. Enter all Nuclear and commercial orders and assist Export as needed. Performs special projects for Department Manager.•Reviews and revises Material Requirement Planning (MRP) schedule to coordinate purchased and manufactured parts.
•Review sales order packets to verify blue prints and creates purchase requisitions for material. Determine material substitution as required to meet delivery or up grade product. Create Shop Work Orders.
•Generates final assembly work orders and incorporate all component work orders.
•Assesses and rectifies problems relating to the acquisition and assembly of spare part components. Reviews and reacts to engineering change notices.
•Run shipping papers and labels and updates schedule book.
•Enter all nuclear and commercial orders as needed. Pull all machine drawings and attach to order for final review by Order Manager.
•Back up purchasing by expediting PO's. Contact vender's to maintain on time deliveries of
parts and material.SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITES:
•Supports and cooperates in the company-wide Total Quality Management (TQM) effort which is based on teamwork and the four absolutes of quality.
•Primary back up for Planning Coordinator.
•Close out work orders, complete shipping papers, pick jobs to ship and complete shipping conformation. Order office supplies as needed.
•Back up for shipping, consists of packaging of parts.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
•High school diploma or equivalent. Relevant collage course work preferred.
•Five years experience in related manufacturing environment.
•Preferably two years pump related production planning or product knowledge.
•Good communication skills and attention to details Visibility computer skills preferred.
•Demonstrated computer proficiency with knowledge of, Microsoft Windows 95 or NT, Excel, Outlook, Word and Visibility.
