Online Training Intern

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (JDRF), the world’s leading charitable funder of diabetes research, was founded in 1970 by the parents of children with type 1 diabetes – a disease which strikes people suddenly, makes them insulin dependent for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications. Since inception, JDRF has provided more than $900 million to diabetes research worldwide. More than 80 percent of JDRF’s expenditures directly support research and research-related education. Our mission is constant: to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.

Currently, JDRF is seeking a volunteer, unpaid Online Training Intern to work in our New York City office. Hours and duration are flexible, but the successful candidate will be able to work a minimum of 7 hours a week, 1-4 days a week. Be part of a dynamic team of online professionals and gain invaluable experience in the field of online training and support.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Learn to develop training content and materials and facilitate live trainings. Assist the online training and support services group within the Online Department. Participate in developing and modifying training content and materials, providing administrative support and report analysis, and have the opportunity to facilitate some trainings. Learn about JDRF, the Online Department and general training and support functions. Assist with Online/IT staff projects as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS:

•Undergraduate student in IT, training and development, or similar major.
•One to two years training experience or equivalent coursework
•Proficient in Microsoft Office and web based research
•Strong writing skills
•Strong presentation skills (preferred)
