Human Resources Manager/Trainer

Gulfstream Park Racing & Casino is expanding our Human Resources Department to include a Manager/Trainer to assist in the day-to-day operation of the department due to the expansion of our facility to include a Casino to be opening in the Fall of 2006. Come and be a part of this exciting new adventure from the very beginning! This position will report to the Human Resources Director and will be part of a team of Human Resources professionals.

Major Responsibility Areas include:
•Provides leadership direction as assigned in accordance with the company organizational structure.
•Prepares and maintains monthly, quarterly, and annual Human Resources statistical data personnel forecast to project employment needs.
•Writes directives advising department managers of company policy regarding equal employment opportunities.
•Establishes or recommends to management, major employment related economic strategies, objectives, and policies to ensure appropriate levels of recruitment and retention can be maintained.
•Recruits, interviews, and assists with selection of employees to fill vacant positions in assigned area.
•Develops, implements and coordinates all Human Resources supported internal and external education and training programs including, but not limited to New Employee Orientation, Guest Services Training, Leadership Training and other training programs as may be required.
•Administrative work as assigned to ensure efficient and effective departmental support.
•Organizes and times work assignments in order to maintain the greatest efficiency in the completion of training programs and other assigned administrative duties.
•Maintains individual education and training records and employee educational related written materials.
•Functions at the performance level generally expected of a Human Resources generalist at the supervisory level.
•Provides continuous feedback to department manager regarding Human Resources related issues and makes recommendations for continual improvement.
•Assists departmental managers with conducting ongoing focus groups for line staff and supervisor level employees for the purpose of identifying potential and existing areas for concern and to solicit problem resolutions.
•Work closely with departmental managers to determine core competencies and technical skills needed for recruitment.
•Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
•Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, laws, internal policies/procedures, and internal control protocols.
•Provides excellent employee support and external customer service.
•Performs other related duties as may be assigned by reporting senior.

REQUIREMENTS
•Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
•Minimum 5 years of Human Resources experience, with an emphasis in all areas of Labor Relations, Employee Relations, Recruitment, and Training/Development.
•Must have an In-depth knowledge of federal/state laws and regulations pertaining to employment, labor relations and employee relations.
•Experience with and knowledge of applicable federal, state, and/or regulatory agency reporting requirements regarding employment.
•Strong leadership skills and customer service orientation required.
•Must be able to work effectively with peers, staff members and regulatory agency personnel.
•Strong computer skills to include effective working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products. Knowledge of ADP PC/Payroll & HR Profile support systems preferred.
•Strong written and oral communication skills required.
•Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.
•Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
