99¢ Only Stores sells all items for 99¢ or less. We sell brand name and private label food and beverages, health and beauty aids, household goods, toys and much more! From our first store opening in 1982, the Company's chain of stores has expanded to over 230 in California, Arizona, Nevada, and Texas.
We are currently looking for a Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will act as liaison between the home office and between 6 – 12 stores within an assigned district. You will primarily be responsible for administrative human resource issues and assisting in managing employee relations cases.
Primary Responsibilities/Duties:
•Prepare New Hire Paperwork to be sent to HR
•Conduct employee orientations (this includes drug testing)
•Paycheck distribution
•Assist store managers in establishing and maintaining store-level employee personnel files
•Provide excellent customer service to district employees and corporate personnel
•Perform reasonable duties as directed by Regional HR Manager and District Manager
REQUIREMENTS
•1 - 3 years of human resources experience in high-volume environment such as retail, hospitality, entertainment, etc.
•Moderate knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations including but not limited to employment, wage and hour, EEOC
•Strong ability to multi-task and be detail oriented but still see the bigger picture
•Ability to work independently and in a team environment
•Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
•Valid drivers license and own vehicle required
•Local travel up to 75% and occasional travel to home office in Southern California
•Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
