Sales Manager/Vice President Sales
Howard Systems, a privately held leader in information technology consulting for over 30 years has a need for an experienced sales professional with a strong background in IT services and sales management. This individual will be called upon to direct and manage the overall sales activity of the company, with a particular focus on its software quality assurance division, Questcon Technologies.
The right candidate will be a charismatic leader with deep sales experience and a successful track record in direct sales, sales management, the implementation of a customer relationship management (CRM) tool and implementing creative marketing campaigns, all as applied to IT services. The sales manager will be familiar with the challenges of selling all levels of IT services, from VMS controlled staffing to projects and other deliverable oriented services awarded through the RFP process.
The individual will have an understanding of the software development lifecycle and the impact which quality assurance (QA) methodologies can have on the development process specifically -- and an entire client organization in general. This sales professional will have a deep understanding of specific business issues (e.g., financial reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPPA, Reg. D of Medicare) and their impact on the purchase of IT services. They will have a thorough understanding of vertical market concepts and the process of gaining credibility within a specific vertical sector.
The candidate must have:
-A balance of experience in direct selling and sales management and a history of over-achieving in both.
-Ability to create and execute innovative sales plans encompassing new customer acquisition, expansion of business within existing customer base and cross selling of multiple lines of service.
-Ability to hire, train, manage and motivate geographically dispersed sales force.
-A high degree of knowledge of sales processes including targeted selling based on industry issues and other drivers, lead management, pipeline management and extensive experience implementing and using a CRM tool.
-Ability to create a growth-oriented annual budget and manage a sales organization to meet or exceed budgeted revenue & profit targets.
-Ability to identify opportunities for the development of new service lines based on market need, create and implement sales and delivery plans to launch and grow new services.
-Ability to communicate effectively and establish credibility with senior customer executives and the company’s internal management team, articulate ideas and solutions, present and speak at key customer meetings and industry conferences.
-Working knowledge of and ability to execute marketing plans encompassing brand awareness, lead generation, vertical and other target marketing, public relations.
Position will report directly to the President of the Howard Systems, will be based in Stamford, CT, and will involve up to 60% travel.
