Engineering - Computer Aided Engineer - Internship

The CAE Intern will lead the development of a specific computer simulation application as it relates to the development of consumer products, the materials and manufacturing processes used to make them. Define the question to be answered, develop and execute the plan to answer that question, including the measurement of relevant material properties and boundary conditions. Create engineering science based simulations and questions about complex multi-physics in the areas of solid mechanics, materials science, or in fluid flow coupled with heat and mass transfer. Transfer the underlying technical basis and how to use the simulation to the broader technical community responsible for delivering products, materials, and processes to commercial viability. Experience with computational model development with UNIX systems and PC systems are desirable.



We are looking for an individual who thrives on technical challenge and who wants relevant experience prior to graduate school or completing their graduate work. SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES NEED TO HAVE A CLEAR VISION OF COMPLETING AN MS OR PH.D. IN AREAS RELATED TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMPUTER SIMULATIONS OF COMPLEX PHYSICS. They must have the drive to understand physical phenomenon interest as well as the implementation of these phenomena into mathematical models suitable predictive simulations. Some previous experience with CAE tools is a plus.



BS in mechanical, chemical, or civil engineering, and engineering mechanics and related fields AND ACCEPTANCE into graduate school with simulation development the intended field of graduate study.



Requirements include minimum overall GPA of 2.75 (on 4.0 scale) and a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on 4.0 scale) on Engineering related courses if applicable.



At P&G, Intern/Co-Op sessions are considered temporary employment, with a predicted ending point. No full-time employment commitments are made; however, depending on satisfactory completion of certain criteria, candidates may be considered for full-time positions upon graduation.
