Direct Support Providers-Supervised LivingWe are looking for Direct Support Providers (DSPs) who have some experience in the field of human services, preferably with adults with disabilities. DSPs offer assistance and support to clients at home and in the community. Responsibilities include supervision and skills training in all areas of independent living from meal preparation to clothing care and personal hygiene tasks. DSPs regularly attend community activities and medical appointments with clients and facilitate social connections both within the home as well as in the community.
This is an entry level position; professional development and opportunities for growth within the organization are significant. Our programs are located in the Brighton, Brookline and Newton areas.Essential Job Functions:
Personal Care and physical attendance to Activities of Daily Living
Medication AdministrationMaintain regular contact with family members
Responsibility of documenting shift reports and daily logsIdentifies and assists residents in attending social events and recreational events.
Assists residents in maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the program by participating in daily cleaning tasks and/or safety checks as identified by consumer need and program expectations
Follows all program guidelines in documentation (such as Service Delivery Logs and timesheets)
Participates in weekly supervision and staff meetings with Program Manager/Site Manager
REQUIREMENTS
Educational/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor degree in related field and some experience working with individuals with disabilities, or High School Diploma or Equivalency with two or more years working with people with disabilities, preferably in a residential setting.Ability to pass American Red Cross CPR/First Aid testing and Medication Administration within first three months of employment
Ability to be flexible in schedule
