COMMUNICATIONS INTERNSHIP

A Marketing Communications Internship with The Reserves Network provides hands-on training in all levels of corporate communications. Our interns develop practical skills and experience in the following disciplines: marketing (business-to-business and business-to-consumer), advertising, public relations, and external and internal communications.

The Reserves Network (TRN) provides “Total Staffing Solutions” through staffing and human resource support services. The Marketing Communications Intern will assist TRN’s Communications Department in a variety of projects and special events.

Hours: 12-36 hours/week, M-F, flexible

Responsibilities:

Assist The Reserves Network’s Communications Department in support of the company’s 35+ branch offices, corporate departments and senior managers.
Aid in the layout, editing, design and copy writing of ads, brochures and operational forms.
Responsible for fulfillment of operational forms and marketing orders.
Help coordinate special events.
Write and proofread classified ads for local newspapers and Web sites.
Prepare materials and set up for events, seminars and job fairs.
Assist in the writing and layout for company newsletter(s).
Support the company’s sales and recruit force by fulfilling requests for marketing materials, research and business development opportunities.
Participate in creative sessions to explore new advertising, marketing and public relations campaigns.
REQUIREMENTS
At least two years of current college coursework in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications, graphic design or related degree program.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with strong attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
Basic knowledge of graphic design programs (Freehand, Photoshop & InDesign) is preferred.
Flexibility and dependability, with a positive, "can-do" attitude.
Creative thinker willing to suggest new ideas and oversee projects.
Web page creation and HTML experience a plus, but not required.
