National Interstate wants you to add your vision and drive to our team! Due to growth, we are currently seeking entry-level Claims Adjusters for our Richfield Corporate office.

This is an entry-level opportunity & provided in-house training and our career track program.

Responsible for:
•Handling claims involving collision, comprehensive or property damage.
•Contacts insureds, claimants or other involved parties to obtain evidence concerning losses.
•Obtain police reports, photos, estimates etc.
•Determines policy parameters such as periods, coverages and deductibles.
•Evaluates claims to determine settlement amount within authority limits and recovery opportunities.
•Develop basic understanding of liability and coverage principles.
•Expense control.
•Reserve awareness.
•Consult with supervisor on unusual situations or where severity of claim exceeds own authority level.
•Handle Inter-Company arbitration.
•Direct the activities of appraisers, independent adjusters, and other vendors.

Qualifications we are looking for:
•Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university.
•1+ years minimum experience dealing directly with the public.
•Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
•Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
•Knowledge of PC's, especially word processing and spreadsheets.
•Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
•Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
•Ability to speak a foreign language is a definite plus.
