Buyer - Indirect Procurement - Entry Level

A World-Class Consumer Products organization is seeking qualified leaders to join their team. As a Buyer of Indirect Procurement services, this position is for individuals demonstrating consistent use and understanding of cost drivers, market dynamics and competitive tension in areas of indirect/non-production procurement. This person will work in the Indirect Procurement Services group. He or she will develop and execute strategic business plans and will analyze complex business problems. Additionally, this person will support business supply base needs of assigned commodities in areas such as Travel and HR. In this position, you'll have the opportunity to:
•Identify, select and qualify suppliers based on business needs and wants within the framework of this company's strategic direction.
•Evaluate supply base capabilities with regard to quality, service, financial strengths and commitment
•Develop bid strategies and packages, selecting suppliers, as well as develop and negotiate the associated agreements.
•Administer strategic initiatives for supply base management practices to include the management of supplier reviews, performance tracking and conformance to agreements.
•Share and drive best practices and successes with other team members globally in a Fortune 200 company.
REQUIREMENTS
What you need to succeed in this position:
•Four-year degree in Supply Chain Management or related degree
•Experience in procurement a plus but not required, no more than 5 years of experience required.
•Public speaking and written/oral communication skills
•An understanding of supply chain principles required
•An understanding of negotiation and persuasion techniques
•Be detail oriented, have strong analytical, statistical, decision making, and organizational skills
•Strong PC skills — Word, PowerPoint, BW, SAP, Excel
•Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
•Strong customer focus with the ability to effectively communicate with business partners
•Proven ability to analyze and process problems resulting in effective solutions
•Resourcefulness in accomplishing objectives and completing tasks
