Application Development Engineering Intern

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Application Development Engineer in the field, provide the Fond du Lac internal tactical and strategic product and process support for the Field Application Development Engineer and Field Engineering Team. An Internal focal point is required to facilitate current issue resolutions for the boatbuilders. As an issue is defined and containment actions are identified the internal person can help facilitate these actions through the Mercury Engineering and Operational groups, the OEM Customer Service Group and the field personnel. The internal focal person can provide assistance on tasks within the engineering groups to accelerate permanent resolution and ultimately assist with implementation of the resolution through the field people.
Collect and analyze data for the monthly OEM report card and perform other data analysis as needed
Perform tasks with the engineering and other functional areas to facilitate and accelerate progress and timely resolution of issues, with the goal of seamless implementation of permanent corrective action.
Regularly communicate status of issue resolution to the field personnel.
Gain additional information from the field personnel and boat builder as needed to help clarify issues during the resolution phase and drive to root cause.
Facilitate containment actions through the OEM Customer Service Group.
Represent Product Integration in CPC meetings for each product family and on Front Desk team.
Coordinate and manage FRACAS team/process.
Expedite parts as needed by field personnel.
Be on-site liaison for Field Application Development Engineer.

EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
Excellent interpersonal skills, meticulous data gathering and analysis capabilities
Strong Mercury Outboard product knowledge
Strong program/project management skills
Background in database management helpful
Understanding of Mercury organization and processes highly desired.
