Underground, Surface, Ventilation and Rock Mechanics Mining Engineers
Newmont Mining Corporation, Underground Operations in both Eastern and Western Nevada are currently recruiting for Mining
Engineers. Eastern Nevada Operations are located on the renowned Carlin Trend that contains more tha n 20 major gold deposits.
Most of the 2,000 employees reside in Elko, Spring Creek and Carlin, NV. Newmont’s Western Operation s are located on the
Valmy Trend. Most of the 1,400 employees at these sites reside in Winnemucca and Battle Mountain, NV
QUALIFICATIONS
Mine engineers perform basic preparatory and support functions which require the application of stan dard engineering techniques and procedures in support of an engineering department,
mining department, processing department or underground department. Using prescribed methods, engine ers will perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment which re -
quire the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures in support of a mining opera tion. Mine engineers will apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations,
adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results and follows operations through a serie s of related detailed steps or processes. They will review data and prepare recommenda -
tions, summaries, and cost estimates for consideration by senior engineers or managers, as well assi st senior engineers as directed, while developing specialized engineering skills. B.S. in
Mining Engineering or similar discipline required.
