GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
The Analyst position within the Windows Infrastructure Department provides technology expertise for the continued functioning of the Windows server environment at PJM. The focus of the Windows Operations Planning & Support Analyst is to develop technology solutions that address and resolve specific operating issues with the Windows server platform, peripheral devices and the portfolio of business productivity software that PJM employees use to complete their work.
This analyst is a generalist who must be versed in the specific hardware and software technology that is used at PJM as well as be able to interact on a regular productive basis with the PJM client population. The Windows Operations Planning & Support Analyst derives their value both from their ability to understand, anticipate and prevent operational technology problems and from their trouble-shooting and diagnostic skills that enable them to resolve technology problems as they occur.

Required:Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or equivalent work experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare servers and associated equipment for various environments, per project requirements. Apply latest firmware, install and configure the operating system and third party applications. Secure the system, per PJM’s documented policies and procedures.
Actively participate on project team’s that develops custom solutions, for core PJM business initiatives. Combined knowledge of PJM core business activities and technical savvy, to effectively design robust, scalable solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with server hardware, operating system software and third party applications. Ability to analyze and escalate issues where necessary. If applicable, initiate and/or participate in the PJM prescribed RCA process.
Support and maintain core PJM business solutions in multiple environments and security zones: Development, Test, Stage, Production, Training, DMZ, external web facing, Data Center and Vendor Extranet.
Provide inventory and asset management support for both hardware and software.
Document installation and troubleshooting procedures and make available to other members of the Windows Operations Planning & Support server team.
Provide system support for changes and enhancements following the accepted change management protocols for PJM.
Participate in the development and completion of testing activities related to the analyst's specific platform.
Develop and maintain a strong relationship with the core PJM business solution vendors. Serve as a technical liaison between these vendors and PJM business units.
Understand and adhere to PJM’s security policies and procedures, as they pertain to the Windows server platform. Initiate and submit firewall access and system ID forms.
Provide technical and audio/visual support for on-site and distributed meetings conducted for the executive staff and PJM members.
