Windows Server and AD Network Engineer
Provide support, administration, and maintenance for projects involving infrastructure running the Windows Server operating system in a global enterprise environment, with special emphasis on delivery of enterprise-class Active Directory (AD) services. Independently maintain and support the server and directory utilities and applications required to operate the enterprise infrastructure: administer, troubleshoot and support complex AD & Windows applications and tools; participate in or lead implementation projects; and interact with vendors and other business and IS areas throughout. Provide 24*7 on call support of the environment on a team rotation basis.
Responsibilities
Serve as project lead and/or member for the administering, programming, and implementation of major IS infrastructure changes, installations or upgrades, with emphasis on server delivery (build) and AD services. Independently manage and troubleshoot multiple AD Forests of virtually any size. Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for Windows O/S, AD and infrastructure services. Identify process, standards and tool improvements that continually drive to improve stability, reduce costs and support needs. Maintain and design advanced scripts for AD management and automation. Collaborate with client, server and other internal/external teams to identify support and technology advancements. Train and mentor team members using advanced product knowledge. Provide clear, concise, and customized documentation that is appropriate for both technical and non-technical audiences. Plan, install, and configure directory services, domains and the underlying network services required to support resource location, discovery and access.
Apply solid problem-solving techniques consistent with an advanced knowledge of technical and operational issues involving the Windows Server OS variants.
Communicate positively and effectively with multiple audiences, as demonstrated by an advanced understanding of tone, methods, audiences, organization and mechanics.
Gather and analyze business needs and requirements and investigate and recommend different solutions to meet needs.
Independently implement processes, seeking appropriate buy-in from affected stakeholders and audience.
Work closely with other systems architects and project managers to develop, plan and implement system enhancements and upgrades.
Interact with vendors for support and new implementations.
Produce technical documentation and seek and incorporate feedback where appropriate.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Work Experience
5 or more years Local Area Networking and/or File & Print Services
5 or more years supporting configuration of server operating systems
5 or more years Microsoft Active Directory management and deployment in an enterprise network
3 or more years project management experience
Technical/Functional Knowledge
Extensive knowledge of directory and identity management theory and its practical application in a Windows Server infrastructure
Advance knowledge of file system management, access control and directory organization

Additional Requirements
Available to participate in 24 x 7 support, off hours and occasional weekend work

Working knowledge of network protocols and topology
Windows server systems management and monitoring experience preferred
Programming skills in C++ or Visual Basic a plus
Experience working with product vendors and assessment consultants preferred
