Welding Engineer/Metallurgist

JOB OVERVIEW:

Provide technical leadership to the TurboCare Houston Operation for the development of new and innovative welding repair technologies for steam and gas turbine rotor repair
Support the Houston based welding team with development and qualification of existing weld procedures for both routine and non-routine repairs
Serve as the technical owner for the TurboCare Engineering Research and Development program with a specific focus on Steam turbine metallurgy and the repair of large rotating equipment
Be the primary TurboCare interface with customers and Siemens Power Generation representatives on welding technology issues
Provide metallurgical and welding leadership for TurboCare operations worldwide
Provide technical support on metallurgical issues for all types of turbomachinery repairs

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION/ REQUIREMENTS:

BS degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering
5 years welding and/or metallurgical experience
Display a “hands on” attitude toward defining and solving problems
Strong motivation to take on and complete major projects, including new process qualification and Engineering developments
Ability to effectively interface in both an engineering and production environment


DESIRABLE:

Advanced degree or technical training in welding and metallurgy
Steam and/or Gas turbine mechanical design or maintenance experience
