Water Resources Specialist
The successful candidate will provide support on various water resources-related projects including surface watershed modeling for water quality. Perform computer analysis and design tasks on simple to complex water resources and other infrastructure projects.
Accountabilities
Assist in the preparation of watershed-based management plans.
Contribute to modeling efforts in estimating loads of nutrients, sediment, and other pollutants.
Use various water quality models to achieve project objectives including SWAT, WASP, HSPF, etc.
Make specific suggestions with respect to problem resolution.
Use CAD, GIS, and other computer applications to develop solutions to engineering problems.
Compile and present findings and results of studies and analyses.
Write reports and task documentation.
Execute defined tasks in accordance with accepted guidelines and regulations.
Good communication skills, both written and oral, are required.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences or other water resources-related degree. MS preferred.
2-4 years related experience.
Understanding of Clean Water Act, NPDES stormwater permitting, FEMA and water quality standards is desired, but not required.
Experience using surface watershed models (SWAT, WASP, HSPT, etc.), MS Office including Work, Excel and Powerpoint required. Experience in ArcView, AutoCAD, and Hydrologic/Hydraulic models considered a plus.
