Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining wide area networks.
Responsibilities include providing tier 2 support and 3rd level guidance and direction for analysis, implementation, maintenance and support of all enterprise-wide LAN and WAN based networks, operations, performance tuning, and capacity management. Candidates must have experience supporting large corporate LAN/WAN environments consisting of over 10 sites.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Install, configure, optimize and maintain routers, layer 2 and 3 switches, firewalls, VPN devices, and other networking equipment.
Evaluate, design, analyze, and maintain all WAN and telecommunications transport systems for new and existing sites.
Conduct feasibility studies on strategic and tactical network plans.
Provide 2nd and 3rd tier support for corporate and campus networks.
Develop, support and implement network standards, processes and security to maintain corporate IT standards.
Develop, update and audit network documentation.
Analyze project needs/requirements and recommend systems to enable enterprise integration of network systems and hardware.
Develop, maintain and communicate project plans and status updates
Training and mentoring to develop members of the team and other technical resources.
Interface with equipment vendors and service providers to obtain system configurations, quoting and support.
Weekly reporting of work activity to the Director of Global Communications.
Resolve trouble tickets assigned to provide exceptional customer service
Occasional travel to a variety of locations including international.
Some on-call responsibilities for after hour support as required.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:
BS/BA degree in Networking or Telecommunications
5+ years experience with TCP/IP
5+ years experience with Cisco routers and switches
3+ years experience with frame relay deployed in a WAN
2+ years experience administering firewalls (preferably Cisco)
Sniffer experience a plus
Cisco CCNP/DP or higher a plus
Proven ability to communicate professionally in a corporate environment
SKILLS:
Proficient with configuration and maintenance of Cisco Routers, Firewalls, Switches, and VPN appliances
Working knowledge of EIGRP, access-lists, IPSec, BGP, ATM, Frame-relay and basic QoS, IP Telephony, Lan/Wan protocols,
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:
Prefer individuals with one or more of the following: -Cisco CCNA,CCNP, CCDA, CCDP, Catalyst Switches.
