User Interface Software Engineer

You will join a team developing a new user interface for video and audio editing tailored to Avid's experienced and new users. You will design, refine and implement features to produce an application with high usability for the targeted customers. You will also develop new capabilities for our user interface framework. The team will operate in a fast paced, dynamic development environment to get a product to market quickly. You will write cross-platform code in C++ for Windows XP and Macintosh OSX operating systems.Required Skills:
Strong object-oriented design skills
Expert understanding of C++
Strong problem solving skills
Either Mac or PC development experience (ideally both)
Able to write large amounts of high quality code that is robust, extensible and maintainable
Familiarity with graphical user interface frameworks is desired, like Trolltech's Qt
Multimedia, video or audio experience is a plus
The ideal candidate will be fluent in either Japanese or Chinese to assist in the development of our application to run under a non-English character set.Candidate must communicate well, be flexible and self-motivated, and work well in a collaborative environment.Education: BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
