Unix Systems Engineer

SRA is consistently recognized as an IT leader by clients, industry associations, and business and technology publications.Daily Responsibilities: Serve as the Unix engineer supporting Solaris and Linux environments. Engineer technical solutions for the Unix environment. Analyze trends in the environment and make recommendations for improvement. Work with hardware and software vendors to analyze, implement and troubleshoot solutions. Develop build and configuration documents describing how to implement Unix solutions. Develop policies for support and mangement of the Unix environment. Work with client oversight manager on Unix-based projects. Required: Years of experience (min) 5 Required: Degree Bachelors Required: Subject Computer Science/IT Discipline Required: Skills Solaris 9 & 10, Linux Required: Hardware Sun ES6900, Sun 890 Required: Software Red Hat, Veritas NetBackup, Rdist, rsync, Jumpstart Required: Technical Languages Shell scripting Required Other Ability to develop central authentication system for all unix servers; Ability to develop centralized back-up solution using kerb or sunone; Ability to implement automated patch distribution
