Category: TechnicalSalary: $68,000.00Travel: NoneJob Description:Check it out; we have three outstanding permanent UNIX Infrastructure Engineer opportunities with the leader in messaging security. This growing company who offers a complete family of multi-layered messaging security appliances needs your expertise on their Infrastructure Team. As a member of the Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and monitoring our both the internal and customer facing UNIX-based servers. Those duties would include, but are certainly not limited to, loading the OS on the server, configuring specific applications, monitoring server performance, tuning applications / OSs to achieve better performance, and reacting to any hardware / software failures on those servers. Responsibilities: - Build / design / deploy new servers for customer facing applications - Monitor UNIX-based servers (Linux, BSD, etc?) for any hardware / software failures and work to correct them - Assist in designing network / servers that best fit the applications and allow for as much redundancy and recoverability as possible (e.g. multiple web servers behind a load balancer with front-end caches and backend database replication) - Work with numerous Open Source applications to build enterprise level systems (i.e. Apache, MySQL, PHP, etc?) - Maintain our network monitoring applications and be a part of the team responsible for reacting to network issues. o Configure / Add new hosts to monitoring software o Design / Develop customer monitoring scripts that are tailored to the environment - ?Own? the customer facing applications and be responsible for constantly monitoring them to make sure our customers are receiving the absolute best results possible o Recommending / implementing improvements as needed Experience: - Experience with various flavors of UNIX / Linux, particularly FreeBSD. - Heavy experience with building / deploying open source software - Ability to build / deploy / tweak / maintain Apache, PHP, MySQL setups - Database experience a plus ? particularly with MySQL - Shell scripting experience (bash, ksh, perl, etc?) needed - Understanding of programming both applications and OS level changes (i.e. kernel configurations, etc?) - Experience with open source monitoring / network software (Nagios, Cacti, MRTG, nTop, nmap, nessus, snort, etc?)
