Union Electrical Workers Apprenticeship--Ventura County

“EARN WHILE YOU LEARN” when you become an apprentice in the “Ventura County “International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers” / “National Electrical Contractors Association, five year apprenticeship program.

Not all career paths require a college education; a career in the electrical construction industry is a highly regarded career choice deserving the respected title “Craftsman.”

The Electrical Construction Industry is not for everyone, but if you possess good analytical skills, are self motivated, accept responsibility willingly, work well with others and enjoy working outside then maybe this is the career you are looking for “ Union Construction Electrician.”
REQUIREMENTS
To apply you must have graduated from High School or have a General Education Degree, completed no less than one year of high school algebra or one semester of College algebra with a passing grade, and be able to provide your diploma, sealed transcripts, birth certificate or pass port and valid unrestricted drivers license.

“PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE” Those working in the electrical construction industry and have documentation of (4000) four thousand hours of electrical construction experience qualify to apply and interview without meeting all of the above requirements. Required Previous Experience documentation shall be 1099, W2's or paycheck receipts equivalent to four thousand hours.

ADDITIONAL JOB AND EDUCATION INFORMATION

Once accepted into the program you will receive your “On the Job Training” during the day, you will work for a local electrical contractor, your wage is based on prevailing apprenticeship wage for Ventura County and registered with the "California Division of Apprenticeship Standards" you will attend class in the evening two nights a week at our local Ventura County Training Center located in the Oxnard.

The Ventura County Electrical Joint Apprenticeship Training program is dedicated to educating apprentices to the highest standard in California, providing quality training with no tuition cost partnering with Ventura County College District and Ventura County Superintendent of School District.

As an apprentice you will be eligible to receive fifty four lower division college credits, on completion of the five year program, during the five year apprenticeship you will have the potential to earn estimated three hundred thousand dollars in wages and benefits.

Apprenticeship is a big commitment, hard work, academically and physically, but the reward when completing the program is immense; you become a “Certified Journeymen Electrician” (Craftsman) by the state of “California Department of Industrial Relations” “Division of Apprenticeship Standards” the “International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers” and “National Electrical Contractors Association”.
