UNIX System Administrator

AMDEX Corporation is seeking an IT professional to serve as UNIX System Administrator. Responsible for the support of a secure, stable and mission-critical environment that supports business processes and objectives. Primary task is to provide systems monitoring activities in the area of UNIX systems and applications support within a Situation Room. This position requires constant monitoring of all systems and the ability to anticipate, evaluate, and resolve problems of a complex nature.

Ensures minimization of downtime and the duration of system performance degradation. Will provide disaster recovery and Cross-functional Situation Room support of one or more support areas (MQ, MVS, CICS, Database, Microsoft/Windows). Requires UNIX server configuration and installation support. All UNIX operating systems and 3rd party software will be supported.

REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS:
*Knowledge of MQ, MVS, CICS, Data Base, Microsoft/Windows
*Demonstrated experience with major system upgrade/enhancements for UNIX systems
*Familiarity with web services in a large UNIX environment
*Demonstrated experience with one or more of the following: Veritas, Oracle, Perl, Java, and C.
*Ability to pass a Law Enforcement background investigation

*Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS) or Data Processing is preferred
