UNIX Technical Architect with extensive experience with Infrastructure Design.
Description:
Extensive experience with UNIX & Windows architecture especially in areas such as Solaris 10 Partitioning and x86 VMWare. Position requires in-depth knowledge of the Sun Solaris 8.x/9.x/10.x and/or HP-UX 11.x Operating Systems. Demonstrated mastery of the concepts in UNIX such as UNIX security, system performance, troubleshooting, clustering and software and hardware partitioning. Position requires a good overall understanding of Storage, monitoring and backup/recovery technologies. Demonstrated knowledge across infrastructure disciplines and technologies and has a broad understanding of IT standards and methodologies. Demonstrated systems integration expertise. Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions that are highly innovative and ingenious.Leads efforts to define, plan and design innovative solutions, including financial analysis of technical alternatives to meet business requirements. Successfully negotiates technical design and deployment strategy. Serves as the cross-platform technical subject matter expert and provides coordination and consulting support. Produces and maintains timely, accurate engineering documentation to support transition, implementation, and operations support and quality and compliance requirements. Leads technical projects that are focused on introduction of new infrastructure and also have software/application engineering implications. Establishes criteria and performs technology evaluations, including lab analysis and proof of concept along with supporting analysis and documentation. Frequently interacts with vendors to influence their products and services. Responsible for briefing Sr. Management on topics ranging from risk analysis, financial implications, to crisis management.Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience required or preferred.
