The Transit Planning Principal will be involved in client and design-team management for a variety of transit modes, especially LRT, BRT and Streetcar. The candidate is responsible for helping devise and implement a Northern California transit and transportation planning program, in concert with the national program. The position requires experience in all phases of transportation planning, project development, including EA/EIS, Alternatives Analysis, and New Starts applications. The transit and transportation planning program for Northern CA includes the Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area markets, and requires strengthening relationships with appropriate federal, state, regional, local agencies, and private entities involved with transit-oriented development. The candidate will plan, organize, and develop a staff of professionals and technicians to assist in program implementation.

REQUIREMENTS
Typically requires 10+ years of transit planning and design experience, transportation planning, and project management.
BS Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, or equivalent; Masters degree, PE license and/or ACIP preferred.
Previous consulting experience with marketing and business development for transit planning is required.
