Vollmer has provided traffic engineering and transportation planning for complex urban arterials, major highways and local roadways. Our involvement in access and capacity studies extends to traffic signal design and corridor studies.
REQUIREMENTS
Our office in Leesburg, Virginia is seeking to fill the following Transportation/Traffic positions:Traffic Engineer with 5-10 years experience in traffic engineering/transportation planning on public and private sector projects. Experience with traffic impact studies and reports for both the public and private sectors is required. Project background should include capacity analysis and simulation using Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM and HCS, highway access permits, corridor/area improvement studies, and alternative analyses. Ability to assist on land development projects an asset. Must have a BS in civil or traffic/transportation engineering and excellent written and verbal communication skills. PE preferred. Knowledge of VDOT design standards, practices, and procedures preferable.
Transportation Modeler with a BS or advanced degree in Civil Engineering focusing on demand forecasting. Qualified candidates will have experience developing and applying sophisticated computer travel models using both custom and commercially available software. Experience with Cube/ TP+, TransCAD, TranPlan, and GIS packages a plus.
