Tool Install Design - CSA Eng

In this position, you will be responsible for the structural and architectural design of Intel's semiconductor process equipment (tool) installations to be used locally and worldwide via Intel's Copy Exactly philosophy. Your responsibilities will also include but not be limited to:


Interfacing and coordinating with equipment owners, facilities or project engineers, layout Industrial Engineers, domestic or international tool suppliers and Architectural or Engineering firms to evaluate and advise on the structural or architectural design and integration into Intel's factories for constructability, adherence to Intel construction specifications, code compliance, safety and value engineering


Providing technical guidance to contracted structural or architectural design staff and field personnel to achieve design goals and to resolve design and construction issues


Providing engineering support and technical guidance to various construction and sustaining facility design teams with regard to building systems, product evaluations and building code issues


Independently (with limited technical guidance) exhibiting working knowledge of applicable cleanroom wall, floor and ceiling assemblies, specialty components and workstation assemblies as they relate to semiconductor equipment installations


Applying working knowledge of product flows, ergonomic guidelines, clearance guidelines, space planning, elevations and building codes


Developing or improving construction specifications and design standards or details to drive consistency in engineering and design processes across Intel's factories and sites


Driving consistency across Intel's tool install engineering and design processes


Managing and ensuring that the change control process is appropriately followed for all engineering documents and scope


Providing technical support to other Intel organizations engaging with the process equipment suppliers: procurement specifications, code compliance, safety, reliability, constructability, adherence to industry standards


Evaluating existing and Plan of Record (POR) structural designs of tool pedestals, buildings and MEP support systems, as well as construction and manufacturing strategies to develop new tools and strategies to more efficiently meet requirements



job Requirements


You should possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering. You should preferably be a registered professional Engineer or Registered Structural Engineer with minimum five years of experience in structural engineering. Additional qualifications include:


Strong verbal, written and presentation skills to convey technical information to a variety of personnel (both structurally/architecturally technical and non-technical)


Strong interpersonal skills and capability to facilitate a teamwork environment


Ability to interface with a multi-user customer base and manage workload of multiple projects of varying complexity


Strong working knowledge of the UBC, AISC, ACI codes and other national standards


Strong knowledge of finite element analysis and other structural analysis programs used in the industry


Emphasis in seismic analysis and design of concrete and steel structures and nonstructural components


Basic understanding of vibration theory and control, as well as vibration analysis software such as SAP2000*, RISA-3D* or ALGOR-V*


Experience in semiconductor equipment pedestal design and fabrication would be an added advantage


Familiarity with semiconductor tool installation designs and SEMI-S2* would be an added advantage


Construction or construction management experience and experience in the design of industrial facilities would be an added advantage
