Tool & Die Design Engineer
Looking for a Tool & Die Design Engineer with at least 5 years experience in Progressive Die Design and experience creating Assembly Drawings, Detailed Layouts, and Strip Layouts. AutoCAD 2000 required. Multi-slide experience is a plus. Experience with Autodesk Inventor also a plus.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Design, update & reuse drawings of progressive, single station, four-slide, draw dies & various fixtures based on customer piece part prints.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
•Determine the sequence of operation & number of die stations in which progressive cutting, punching & forming will be accomplished.
•Generate detailed & assembly drawings of all components associates with the production of progressive & single station, four - slide & draw dies, based on blueprints, specification & tool orders.
•Resolve manufacturing problems for certain material characteristics tolerances, & processes.
•Develop flat blank & strip layout drawings for manufacturing process & analysis.
•Select standard MSC die components during die design to allow concurrent tool mfg.
•Generate bill of material to assist the mfg. of all tool & die designs.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of AutoCAD Design software; Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word Word Processing software.

Other Skills and Abilities
Preferred Skills and Experience - Blueprint reading including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA, GR&R, etc), Design of Experiments (DOE), Experience in metal stamping or other high volume manufacturing field.
