Test Engineer//Trainer

Purpose: There is a North Austin company filling a position that is a split role between delivering stand-up classroom training and performing as a Sr. Engineer testing customer?s products. Technology classes consist of (ML350 In-depth Fibre Channel analysis, ML250 Fibre Channel Architecture and Instrumentation, ML280 iSCSI Architecture and Instrumentation and/or ML270 SAS Architecture & Instrumentation). The ideal candidate for this level of instruction is an engineer who can teach.

Testing Duties include:

*Enterprise Class Testing of customers products
*Servers, Switches, HBA?s, Storage, Appliances
*SAS, SATA, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, SCSI
*Data Integrity Testing, Stress Testing, Protocol Analysis, Interoperability
*Strong working knowledge of multiple server OS platforms (Windows, Linux, Unix, Netware).

Training Duties Include:

*Setup classroom facility with appropriate hardware & software
Teach course lecture sections from Microsoft Powerpoint slides to groups of up to 20 students
*Demonstrate proper Xgig analyzer usage for evaluating protocol traces.
Teach course lab sections using the Xgig analyzer.
*Evaluate course material for periodic update based on updates to standards documents and industry product implementation
*Participate in industry events such as plugfests and standards committee meetings
*Create new course content as need arises including:
*Develop learning objectives & course outline
Map course content to defined learning objectives using approved lab format

Other Skills and Qualifications:

*Minimum 4 years experience working with low-level Storage protocols (e.g. SCSI, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, SAS) in a QA Test, Engineering or Engineering Training capacity

*Technical B.S. degree preferred, but enterprise experience may substitute.

*Strong work ethic and a hands-on approach to testing and training are required.

*Demonstrated ability to deliver presentations to groups of 10 or more.

*Previous experience using Microsoft Powerpoint

*Demonstrated ability to deliver projects consistently on time and within budget

*Self-motivated self-starter who is able to prioritize daily workload with little direct supervision

*Results-oriented individual who is able to perform successfully in a fast-paced environment

*Willingness to actively participate in a team

*Experience in Technical Training or Education strongly desired
