Telecommunications Engineer

Vaco Technology has an immediate permanent opening in Nashville , TN for a Telecommunications Engineer. Ideal candidates should meet the following requirements:*Only those with ALL of the REQUIRED skills below will be considered for this opening**Job Requirements
The following skills are required:
Minimum of ten years experience in telephony or data network positions
Detailed knowledge of telephony network architectures and solutions
Detailed knowledge of IP telephone systems and installations.
Detailed knowledge of voice solution providers and their offerings
Detailed knowledge of Cisco network architecture and solutions
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Good organizational skills and time management skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure while retaining excellent decision making skills
Strong customer service orientation
Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
Excellent skills with Visio and MS Project
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Valid CCNP designation
Must obtain CCDP designation within 12 months of hire
Must obtain IP Telephony Design designation with 18 months of hireThe following skills are desired:
Have participated in several Voice over IP installations
Working knowledge of various computer operating systems (Windows 2000, NT, Win98).Knowledge of the following:
o Cisco IOS and CATOS operating systems.
o Routing protocols (BGP,EIGRP,OSPF)
o Remote Access (VPN Concentrators, PIX Firewalls)
o VLAN design
o Spanning-Tree Protocol
o High Availability design and understanding
o Foundry Network ServerIrons
o VMWARE and associated management tools
o Visual Networks or other network monitoring tools
o SNMP
o MSF and MOF standardsAble to conduct research into infrastructure issues and products as required.
Valid CCDP designation
IP Telephony Design designation
