The western US area, a district of the North America Region has an immediate opening for a highly motivated individual as a Technical Support Engineer supporting the Drilling Systems Product Lines. This individual will interface with Operations and its R&M facilities in the Gulf Coast Area first. A transfer to the Western US is intended after 1-2 years depending on the individuals’ growth and district needs. The individual serves as a liaison between Operations, Product Line Management, Technical Services, Engineering, Manufacturing and Sales.Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to Operations and its Repair & Maintenance facilities. Analyze drilling systems product and service performance data and identify improvement opportunities. Establish a standard process to ensure accuracy of MaPS data. As a technical expert advise internal and external customers regarding product design and product upgrades. Monitor and analyze the performance of new products or individual components. Evaluate technical and financial aspects of Drilling Systems products, predominantly the Motor and VertiTrak product lines. Conduct tool failure investigations and generate failure reports. Serve as a case worker for First Alert system. Other duties as required. Knowledge: Basic analytical skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Hands-on approach and team oriented player. Motivated and self-directed. Knowledge of Baker Hughes INTEQ Drilling Systems products is beneficial. Drilling industry experience, especially rigsite, is a plus, but not mandatory.
