The Technical Leader will lead the plant to continuous improvement in quality and productivity and will be a member of the Plant Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Plant Leader. This is a leadership position accountable for technical support in order to drive stability, control and improvement efforts of the manufacturing process.The successful candidate will possess statistical process control knowledge, technical skills, and Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing experience. The Technical Leader will provide practical guidance and leadership to maintain controlled and capable processes, assuring that the product is manufactured to meet customer fitness for use criteria at the optimum manufactured costs and quality standards. The individual selected will work closely with business unit engineers and be responsible for the implementation of process improvement strategies.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Determine, assist in and lead technical direction for plant that aligns with the business unit and plant goals.Provide leadership and direction for technical areas of focus and deploy resources/teams as needed to address items as aligned with the plant strategy.Provide leadership and guidance in continuous improvement of plant performance and quality efforts by fully understanding the process capability and options to improve productivity and efficiencies.Provide leadership and guidance for the capital plan and projects by partnering with the Operations Leaders and Maintenance Leader to determine equipment capacity and improvement needs. In addition, determine best means of improvement, and develop the 901’s to meet the project’s needs.Provide technical assistance in the continued development and improvement of Standard Operating Procedures.CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:2 to 4 years experience in a manufacturing environmentEDUCATIONBachelor’s DegreeEngineering or Business Experience is EssentialPROFESSIONAL LICENSES/CERTIFICATES:Six Sigma Black Belt/Green Belt strongly preferredMust be eligible to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis.Owens Corning is an equal opportunity employer.
