Technical Lead

Position Summary:
The Technical Lead works with the programming staff to make certain that programming specifications are completed in an efficient manner. Create and maintain a high quality work environment so programmers are motivated to perform at the highest level. Ensure that programmers adhere to coding standards and department best practices.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
§ Track team progress against project critical path and identify issues or actions impacting or causing change and take action as appropriate within scope of authority
§ Provide management updates as required to the Manager of Technology
§ Ensure projects are delivered on time, to specifications/quality demands and within budget
§ Regularly attend and contribute to team project meetings
§ Submit a weekly status report on the technical aspects of all projects in progress
§ Ensure client satisfaction and reference ability
§ Organize and respond to technical issues from customers
§ Respond to and resolve technical problems and issues expressed by technical staff
§ Develops and tracks technical work schedules. Provides technical guidance and approves the work of project team members
§ Handle complex application features and technical designs Ensures the technical aspects of projects are delivered on time, on budget and to client specifications of requirement and quality
§ Coordinates with Client IS and system engineers on host environment requirements, setup and project deployment
§ Directs involvement with clients' technical staff. Serve as the focal point for communication with the client on technical issues.
§ Coordinate with Project Managers and Account Managers in escalation of problems, bugs.
§ Facilitate good communication processes among the various departments within the company associated with the project.


Supervisory Responsibilities:
§ Manages project teams (4 - 8 people in size) consisting of internal tech professionals and outside contractors
§ Oversees teams of software engineers to architect, design and develop web-based solutions (branded web sites, extranets, portals, etc.)
§ Mentor technical professionals to develop their skill set.
§ Provide input to SVP of Technology for employee performance reviews and staffing plans.
§ Motivate and discipline team members as necessary to achieve results.
§ Enforce company policies and procedures within the department.
§ Works with SVP of Technology to identify and commit appropriate staff resources to meet current and future project resource requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience Requirements:
§ 4 - 6 years of solid technical experience in web development (MUST be/have hands-on experience with C#, ASP.NET and T-SQL)
§ Strong work ethic a must
§ Must have experience with:
o User interface web development technologies (HTML, XML, DHTML, etc.)
o Database design and development experience (store procedure and trigger)
o Web architectural & OOP & n-tier development skill.
