Tech Prod Designer - Wiring/Equipment Installation Desi

JOB DUTIES: Develops engineering product designs that meet engineeringand manufacturing requirements for deliverables such as mechanical, structural, architectural, and electrical and electronic components and systems.
Defines, maintains, and releases engineering product data in electronic data sets or drawings.
These may include layouts, three-dimensional models, engineering drawings, and parts lists.
Ensures designs and engineering data are accurate, integrated, clearly communicated, and complete; that they conform to standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements; and that they are under configuration control.
Participates in root cause analysis of customer and supplier; manufacturing, design, and documentation problems.
Acts as consultant or subject matter expert to develop process improvements and contribute to technical solutions.
Investigates design factors such as ease of manufacturing, interchangeability, strength-weight efficiency, contractual specifications, and cost to develop engineering designs.
Interfaces with engineers, peers, group leaders, internal and external


Requirements:

JOB SKILLS:
Proficiency with CATIA V4 and or V5 required.
Primary assignments require a complete understanding oftechnical processes, practices, and standards as well as the principles, theories, and concepts within an area of design.
Knowledge: Demonstrates a complete understanding of design principles and concepts relative to the immediate group or organization and general knowledge of related or interfacing groups or disciplines.
Practices wide application of company and industry design and documentation processes and standards to design minor Components or portions of major systems.
Develops complete major layouts of engineering designs.
Modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing processes.
Gathers information, makes studies, prepares original rough sketches used by others to prepare final documentation.
Problem Solving: Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems using established organizational policies, practices, and procedures for guidance.
Latitude: Independently determines and develops approach to accomplishing work statement.
Plans, schedules, and arranges own activities under general direction and provides work statement instructions to others.Assignments are reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
Contact: Frequently coordinates design criteria and process development requirements with inter-organizational contacts, such as engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups; and outside customers and suppliers.
